Monday Mirthiness: Wow So Much Climate Change in Five Years

This will bring out the fact checkers…. Saying “missing context”…. “Doesn’t prove climate change isn’t real.” etc.

Well I’m not out to prove that, when I am out the show is that using color you can make it look worse than it is. And that’s exactly what they did here in Germany. The temperatures are in centigrade, the colors are from hell.

Propaganda, pure propaganda

You know, I bet there is a demand for a 24*7 weather channel with weather bunny meteorologists. And only weather bunny meteorologists.

And since only women are hired, you could save 22% on salaries.

22C is in the red?

The climate hysteria I see around me seems based on some sort of fridge world. A world where temperatures above 5C are deemed hot….

“UK hot weather forecast: 20C heatwave as TWO WEEK ‘Saharan sizzler’ to blast Britain”
https://www.express.co.uk/news/weather/1583128/UK-hot-weather-forecast-met-office-latest-updates-march-2022-heatwave

Seriously? A 20C heatwave? Well, the kids might believe it.

“UK weather forecast: High pressure airstream sweeps in as Britain to sizzle in scorching 20C heat”
https://twitter.com/GBNEWS/status/1657028092789923840

“The Met Office and BBC Weather have already forecasted “mild” weather to sweep Britain in March, and now it looks like 20C could be on the cards”
https://www.dailystar.co.uk/news/latest-news/uk-weather-brits-sizzle-20c-21575388

On the colour scheme used to ram home a point.

“We found two distinct themes in visual coverage. The first used images of “fun in the sun” that depicted heatwaves as something enjoyable. In all four countries, the majority of these images showed people having a good time in or by water. This was particularly prominent in the UK, perhaps saying something about how British culture narrates the experience of very hot weather in our historically mild climate.

The second theme we found was “the idea of heat”, depicted through red and orange colours, which are (in western cultures) commonly associated with heat or danger. People were largely absent from this visual discourse in photos such as generic stock photographs of thermometers against a blindingly hot sun. When people were pictured, they were depersonalised by silhouetting them against the sun so their faces were not visible.

20 C is the same as 68 F which is mild weather in my area no wonder the brits have gone soft as it is 30 F below their average body temperature.

Right now, it is already 71F in my area forecast to reach a warm 91F. which doesn’t bother anyone except warmist/alarmists who hide in their basement shaking in fear of a nonexistent problem.

Wow. “When I was a kid” STP standard temperature and pressure was 25C. Now STP is either 20C or 0C. What happened, I can’t believe my dusty old engineering professors just shrugged and let them have it. Maybe they were “working from home” when it happened.

Hi, Don’t read the text on Wikipedia. It’s always corrupted by activists who lie. It’s obvious that STP is not feezing. Who sets their laboratory to kill the fish in the corner office?

From the very same page it shows STP to be 25°C or 20°C depending on whom you ask.

Read the table:

Please describe the changes to the global climate over the past 120 years. If you say anything more than slightly warmer, wetter and greener then you would be wrong. There have been no changes in the frequency, intensity and duration of any extreme weather events over that period other than normal annual to multi-decadal variations.

Robert T Evans
May 15, 2023 9:33 am

This type of colour coding also changes from time to time, especially when colder conditions prevail ie Blue colours are changed to yellow, which has happened with the Pacific charts
and the Arctic when these areas were getting colder.
I have also notice that the UK Met Office CET charts are showing above average temperatures this spring, Most gardeners would say that this spring has been slightly below average. Checking the CET chart I noticed that the average was based on average temperatures between 1960 / 1990 Which not surprisingly were a very cold period.
In fact it was the same as for the period 1650 to 2023 Which included the Mini Ice age.
Why do the Met office and the BBC especially give very distorted facts on Climate and weather.

This reminds me of an infamous incident more than a decade ago. The CBS Morning News did a segment on ‘global warming’ which was illustrated by a US map of February temperature anomalies. The map showed many shades of angry red and said the source was NOAA. I was confused by this because I knew the western US had suffered record cold that winter. So I looked up the original NOAA map, and there were cold anomalies in the western US and warm in the eastern US. CBS News graphics had taken the ABSOLUTE VALUES of the anomalies and shaded them all red. Most viewers saw the graphic for just a few seconds. Just long enough to register as dangerously hot. 🙁

Then there was the time that Al Gore made a speech about global warming outdoors in Washington DC in January. It might have played well on TV in people’s cozy living rooms, but Gore’s live audience wasn’t feeling the warming. Brrrr!

Mumbles McGuirck

The point is the graphic was NOT labeled “absolute value”. It was a deliberate deception, presenting the viewer with a map of temperature anomalies, all red.
Even the wisest viewer would conclude that the temperatures across the US were all above normal.

They tried to make it “look” warmer with the red colors in 2022 as compared to the green in 2017, even though the actual temperatures were warmer in 2017.

And, speaking of the woman presenting the weather report, she was wearing a blue dress with short sleeves in 2017 in front of a green map, but a black pantsuit with long sleeves (which would really soak up the sun on the summer solstice) in 2022 in front of a red map. But if the first woman really came in from 33 C (91 F) in 2017, you can’t blame her for wearing short sleeves!

And the beat goes on. Anyone half aware of the scam could have predicted that some people claiming to be “scientists” would make this claim after Mocha hit Myanmar. It is even more predictable than the sun rising.

Climate change makes cyclones more intense, destructive: scientists (msn.com)

Though skepticism is great, knowledge is the ultimate antidote for so called “scientists” lying and then having their lies promoted by so called “journalists” that are nothing more than stenographers who don’t do even superficial fact checking.

History and weather records are the enemy of the scammers. And here is the history:

https://pbs.twimg.com/media/Fv8he5BWYAcOYuk?format=jpg&name=large

Besides the fact that the bulk of killer cyclones in the region occurred before the 20th century please note that #1 and #8 occurred in the 70’s when global cooling and a possible coming ice age was the scare the “scientists” were selling and the “news” was promoting.

Note: Though a final tally is not out yet, it appears that the death toll from Mocha is surprisingly low relative to the history despite the storm being a CAT 4 and nearly a 5 when it made landfall along a coastline with a huge area at or below 2 meters above sea level.
